“Wherever you go there you are” ~Jon Kabat-Zinn

Packing and carrying lots of baggage on the trip is a good reminder for me to check in with what “baggage” I am carrying on my trip of Life. Going on a journey or moving house or jobs or starting something new …..even just starting a new day……is always a good time to reflect on which parts of you are in charge as these parts choose what is your style of behaving, the tone of voice and words you use, even the clothes you wear… how you will act and show up in the world…which often ends up “baggage”…

Question for you: which Parts of you are in charge or running your life♥

Each of these Parts has a style or modus operandus and an agenda ….. Some examples are:- the Loving Self, the Perfectionist; the Criticizer or the Judge;  the Procrastinator; the Controller; the Playful one; the Caretaker; timid, shy part; grumpy mad part; Resentful parts; the Spiritual Self; the Compassionate Self, the Angry, attacking Self { if you know
our Imago work – the Crocodiler or the withdrawing part – the Turtler} …..and many many more…

It’s sad that people think all they have to do is change their environment or their partner or how much money they have, or their hairstyle, or how their kids behave, or getting rid of your partner’s ex-spouse, or a hundred other things that their life will be different…..Now I’m not denying that external things make a difference. They do! Yet how you receive and respond to those external things is what makes the difference – which is an inside job!

To illustrate this think about two different people having the same thing happen to them and the opposite ways they can experience those circumstances. Like two people failing an exam. One could just give up and blame and complain while another could be motivated to improve and succeed. Like two people falling in love – one could be excited and delighted and happy while the other could be apprehensive and cautious and holding back. Like two people having their partner or friend coming home from work upset and angry – one could be judging, attacking and rejecting while the other could be curious, empathic and kind.

What is inside us and our past experiences and thus which parts of us got developed predict how we will perceive our day, how we will respond and pretty well everything about our day.

“emotional baggage”

Question for you: is the Love-Finder or the Fault-Finder the more dominant Part in your life?

Question for you: are you willing to check out and discover what “baggage” you are  carrying with you today that no longer serves you and start the task of  re-packing♥

Sending much positive energy for exploring, probing, inquiring, examining and uncovering… Admiringly and with LOVE, Susie ♥♥
