♥ DAILY LOVE TIP – Thursday September 22, 2011
Hello dear ♥Ones,
It’s fantastic! I am ♥LOVE-ing and appreciating all your comments to the Tuesday post. Please keep them coming……..
I am learning lots from you. As I read them I learn about me as they all stimulate different things in me as well as telling me about you and your needs.
I was answering a comment to ♥Hilary this morning and it evolved into what I think is an important sharing to everyone so I am including it here:
♥Hilary’s comment was:
Hi Susie, Looking forward to seeing you soon (and the landscaping!)
Just to let you know I generally always read your blog as i eat my porridge early in the morning
I generally check my emails and there you are, i dont have to click to other areas, its not too lengthy, I get to see some beautiful photos, quotes & inspiration (which are some of my favourite things) and have something to think about while getting ready for work, Im becoming a lover of routine after many years of not having or wanting one. I dont normally respond due to time, I also spend a lot of my day in front of a computer working now and dont like doing more when I come home.
One of the gifts of your blog is being a part of Rebeccas unfolding in ways i wouldnt normally experience, what an absolute treasure of mine she is (Bec is very high on my list of favorites) I didnt respond to that blog but personally to Bec. I also reuse an occasional picture/quote and send on to Brea, in a sense you are one of the pivots between the three of us (pivots are very important). So YES, your blog does matter to me, YOU are important to me, I value most the photos, quotes & inspiration, so all of it! And ALL of YOU, Love you and see you soon, Hilary

Hello dear ♥Hilary,
I love you sharing the image of you reading eating your porridge early in the morning & then you thinking about the topic on the blog while you are getting ready for work. It feels close to being there with you sitting down and having a chat with you. I guess as I am thinking about it being a ‘people person’ that is what I miss in the blog – people interacting with me and sharing back the impact of what I am saying… tah dah!!. That’s what it is!…….a light bulb moment!
I remember watching an Oprah show and her saying that in the early days she didn’t have an audience and she couldn’t work with that and in the beginning what they did was brought in plastic chairs and used the studio staff and then she joked that they bribed people to bring them in off the streets so she would have an audience. Having an audience gives feedback about whether you are hitting the mark, let’s you know whether what you are saying makes sense, whether to do more of what you are doing…..or less….and so much more….and what is of primary importance for me are relationships of course!!
And what I value most highly and which is also a strength of mine is that I’m a process person!! In our workshops we use a combination of a number of mediums to teach but two very basic styles are giving presentations/lectures and processing material that comes up out of that. The latter for me is about connecting with where people are at rather than with a pre-planned agenda.
I am actually the sort of person who can run a whole weekend with little or no plan to follow other than following where the people are and what are their needs and teaching/processing out of that.
I’m getting it now how come not getting any comments has been hard for me – I thought it must have been about needing people to like the blog and approval and needing to be validated……..which I do need yet I have been getting this from people in lots of different ways over and over……. and Yes I have taken it in people are valuing the blog and it is important to them for lots of different reasons…..Yet there has been something missing and this is it!!
I love how something like this gets uncovered for me when I take the time to reflect on it with the witnessing of another human being……It’s like I have been only able to keep coming back to the surface stuff around this topic of people commenting/not commenting on the blog – and do what we all do which is look to solutions as to how to increase comments on the blog…rather than go deeper to find what is fuelling that strong need in me for it.
A colleague recently shared a great piece from the book, The Empathic Civilization by Jeremy Rifkin:
“When a person realizes he has been deeply heard, his eyes moisten. I think in some real sense, he is weeping for joy. It is as though he were saying, “Thank God, somebody heard me. Someone knows what it’s like to be me.”
This is how it feels for me at the moment – it’s like I’ve really seen me and through me really seeing me then that helps me show myself differently to others.
So a-la-Oprah’s tactic to getting ‘an active audience’ – that is “pulling-people-off-the-street” – ♥Hilary would you be willing to comment on the blog a minimum of once a month/fortnight/week whatever works for you♥ Another option is to commit to commenting on a particular day of the month – like the 1st of each month or on a particular day like on Mondays, etc….♥
That is my request/invitation to this general blog community as well – would you be willing to comment on the blog a minimum of once a month/fortnight/week whatever works for you♥ Another option is to commit to commenting on a particular day of the month – like the 1st of each month or on a particular day like on Mondays….
You also have the option of just clicking LIKE on the bottom of the blog which won’t work so well for those of you who subscribe as you have to go to the blog to do that. You can also click LIKE on Facebook easily if that is where you view the posts…….. Just something quick like the amount of ‘LIKES’ is a good indicator of people valuing that post…
By the way I actually highly recommend all of you having a go at experimenting with doing this. I’ve gotten into a practice of commenting on other people’s blogs since I started writing this blog – I actually didn’t even know anything about blogs before I started writing and it always is a learning experience for me as I share.
I’m gob smacked and over-joyed at the same time! I think what is wonderful too is all I needed to do was put some quality attention to it for a short time and all this information came tumbling put. That is one of the reasons I offer you these 5 minute ♥MIRRORING exercises as when there is quality attention all sorts of unexpected discoveries can be made…
Question for you: what is an issue that keeps repeating for you that has you baffled around which there has been little change. Ask someone to ♥MIRROR you as you explore all about it. You don’t have to know what it even means when you begin….or even make sense – just share and allow the process…
And yes ♥Hilary your ♥Rebecca and ♥Brea are gorgeous young women and such a credit to you and your wonderful parenting. I love the idea of being “one of the pivots between the three of you” – what a wonderful position to be in. Thank you for the honour!
Todays’ Addition to my list of My ♥favourite things…..is the ♥LOVE that is so palpable between ♥Hilary and her daughters – flowing in all directions!
Sending much support to you as you explore uncovering & unravelling the unexpected! LOVE SUSIE♥
“Extend some kind of unexpected generosity to someone, preferably a stranger, every single day for two weeks. The more you practice being generous, the more you’ll impact others in an inspiring way.” ~ Wayne Dyer
To keep progressing, you must learn, commit and do – learn, commit, and do – and learn, commit, and do all over again.” ~Stephen Covey
Oh my! What a surprise, giggle, giggle! Thank you Susie, another pivotal moment as Ive forwarded your post on to Brea. Yes, I think I can commit to commenting on your post once a fortnight or so, Ive just finished eating the most luscious strawberries on toasted sourdough bread with butter, mmm. Obviously food and computers work together for me at the moment. Hope you had a wonderfully scintillating day, Love Hilary
Great ♥Hilary! How wonderful….I look forward to your gastronomic, succulent :O) comments…..mmmmmm sounds like a very tasty breakfast. LOVE Susie♥
