♥ DAILY LOVE TIP – Thursday September 29, 2011
Hello dear exploring ♥Peoples,
What’s your favourite Dr Seuss quote or saying or story……..Snuggle up somewhere and read one of the books with someone special or to your own Inner Child……….Share a memory it brings up for you…………What books or stories or authors were your favourite when you were a young kid …….if you still have the book read it or bits of it to someone or have them read it to you…….
♥MIRRORING TOPIC: share what stood out for you about your favourite author from childhood♥ What did/do you find special about it♥
I didn’t actually have any experience of Dr Seuss when I was a kid – As an adult there are two associations that stand out particularly………… The first one I have always associated “Oh the Places You’ll Go……..” with my daughter ♥Zoe….. and the second one is from the movie ‘I Am Sam’ which is a favourite movie of mine………..[which incidentally has lots of interesting stuff around parenting and ♥LOVE and family]…….in the part where Sam and his daughter Lucy are reading from the story “Green Eggs and Ham”.
So my dare to you on this fine day is to be silly and read the story out loud with an audience!!……
The story goes that after writing The Cat in the Hat in 1955 using only 223 words, Dr Seuss bet his publisher that he could write a book using only 50 words. Seuss collected on the wager in 1960 with the publication of “Green Eggs and Ham”…….. Here are the 50 distinct words used in the book:
a am and anywhere are be boat box car could dark do eat eggs fox goat good green ham here house I if in let like may me mouse not on or rain Sam say see so thank that the them there they train tree try will with would you

Todays’ Addition to Shelton’s list of ♥favourite things is……his favourite story from childhood which is The Hardy Boys…..he loved how they solved mysteries and they had adventures and they got to take risks…….
Remember one of the reasons that we are collecting information about our partner’s (or people special to us) favourites things is because knowing what is important to them gives you lots of data to choose from when you are thinking of things to do for them to make them feel special and loved and cared for. If you don’t know their likes and dislikes it is very hard to “hit the target” for them.
Today is your Day!…..So get on your way…….. Love SUSIE♥
Are you smiling♥…..…
Look into this little ♥darling’s eyes and see if you can stop yourself smiling…..
Smiles relieve stress…..Smiles are good for us :O)
Your body immediately releases endorphins when you smile, even when you force it.
This sudden change in mood can help you feel better and reduce stress.
Thanks for this reminder Susie, I love the Dr Seuss books and they have a firm place in our household. “The places you will go” was read at Steve’s graduation as the speech and I went and bought it immediately and find it an inspiring story every time I read it – the beauty of children is that it is quite often. We use “Green Eggs and Ham” as a reminder to our children and ourselves to give new things a go when ever there is stalling at new challenges – A few lines from anywhere in the book is all it takes now to motivate the kids to have a go at a new challenge or eat the gourmet dinner I have prepared for the family which the kids hate on sight!!!! thanks again Suzi
Dear ♥Suzi,
Reading “The places you will go” at a graduation ceremony is a great idea and that probably is my link to my daughter Zoe as well….And yes what an asset having children is to get the chance to indulge reading and re-reading all the amazing kids books there are…
How wonderfully creative to use “Green Eggs and Ham” to play with your kids and yourselves “to give new things a go whenever there is stalling at new challenges”…I’m going to play with that one. Thank you!! Susie♥
Cant go past Richard Scary! Both Ben & I grew up with Him & we have taken great delight in aquainting our boys with him too.
Hi ♥Gaelia,
How great is it that you and Ben both grew up with Richard Scary and that you get to share it with your boys with great delight! I don’t know his work much at all. Maybe there is a seed there somewhere for the two of you to expand and play more with Richard Scary’s work…….LOVE Susie♥
